Sponsorship and Patronage

The Trust acts as the governing body and represents the Foundation, and as such, it is responsible for ensuring that the Foundation's goals are met. It also administrates the estate and the rights that form its heritage, with the aim of continuing to provide maximum performance and effectiveness at all times.

The Fundación Comillas Trust seeks to integrate both public and private organizations within a framework of mutual collaboration. The aim is to develop an educational project which strives for excellence in higher education, research and the dissemination of the Spanish language and culture. All of this will have a positive effect on the development of the town of Comillas and the region of Cantabria.

Organization and Running of the Fundación Comillas Trust

 

The Fundación Comillas Trust may have up to twenty-nine Trustees. Of these, fifteen will be institutional Trustees and an even number, between six and fourteen, will be elected Trustees.

The Foundation institutional Trustees are natural or juridical persons who during the Foundation's first three years make contributions, either as an initial payment or in installment payments, of no less than three million Euros. In addition, they will sponsor the Foundation's activities on a regular basis.

Elected trustees are appointed by institutional trustees, either following a proposal from the President or by a third of the members of the Trust. They are chosen from amongst any natural or juridical persons who are found to have merit regarding the objectives or activities of the Foundation.
