International Campus of Cantabria

International Campus of Cantabria is a project based on institutional and entrepreneurial cooperation with the intention of contributing to the transformation of the Autonomous Region of Cantabria into a knowledge-based region. To this end it designs strategies and guides efforts aimed at achieving international excellence in academic, scientific, technological and knowledge transfer resources and capacities for the autonomous region. In 2009, the Spanish government designated the International Campus of Cantabria as one of the nine leading International Excellence Campuses (CEI) of Spanish universities.

The pursuit of international excellence in teaching, research and knowledge transfer is divided into four strategic areas of specialization or areas of excellence:

  • Biomedicine and biotechnology.
  • Banking, finances and entrepreneurial activity.
  • Language and Heritage, which is the framework for Comillas Foundation and CIESE activities.
